Hey friends,
One of my favorite facebook features is the birthday notification. Every morning when I check that notification I learn two things: one, whose birthday it is đ„ł, and second, who the hell are some of these people that are my âfriendsâ?!
The reason I love this feature is because it gives me a chance to reconnect with my closest friends and family. So, today I wanted to share with you something Iâve been doing for the last few years and how you can do it too to make your friends feel happier and make their special day a little bit better.
Thatâs the Birthday Phone Call. đ
Yes, that app on your phone that does the, you knowâŠphone part? That app. Letâs use it. Every day I check the birthday notification on facebook and first see if any of my close friends have their birthday today. Then, I simply call them. Not text them, not post on their wall, I call them. These calls are short, sometimes even under a minute, and require very little effort on your part; but, they make a big impact on the birthday boy or girl. For them it means you took time out of your day to think about them, check in on them, and celebrated with them. No one else does that, everyone else will text âHappy Birthday Bob!â and move on.
Secondly, in todayâs busy world where everyone is texting all the time, we donât get time to actually talk to our friends and see how theyâre doing. Even though we feel digitally connected, weâve all grown further apart. Someoneâs birthday is the perfect day to make that effort and reconnect with them, call them to say hello, have a chat, and have no agenda.
Youâll be surprised how happy youâll make people with this one little habit, and best of all, it will help you stay connected, the human way, with people that matter the most.
Hope this helps. Now go check facebook and call a friend and make them smile. I guarantee you theyâll be excited to hear from you. đ€

Video: Why Sleep Matters with Matthew Walker on Joe Rogan - Iâve always averaged 4 hours of sleep a day for as long as I can remember, but this video changed my view on sleep and now I do my best to get 8 hours every day. If I had done this 10 years ago, I might still have hair. Oh wellâŠ
Video: Handpan - Musical Instrument - looking for a calm sounding instrument to do some deep thinking? I just came across Handpans and I want to get one and learn how to play it. This is a fairly new instrument and was invented only a few years ago.

Who to Impress and Ignore at Work - In almost every job, you'll be working with people. Unfortunately, not everyone will love you the same. In every group, there are going to be people who love working with you no matter what and then there will be some who will hate you regardless of your hard work and efforts. Knowing who to focus your efforts on can make the difference in your career trajectory, and most importantly, your personal happiness. In this video I talk about the three types of people in any work environment and how you should put varying amounts of effort behind each.
